Mary’s story in Luke 1 reminds us that peace doesn’t come from having everything figured out. It doesn’t come from feeling strong, prepared, qualified, or in control. Mary had none of those things—she had fear, uncertainty, risk, and a calling far beyond her human ability.

And yet she found peace.

Where did it come from?

  • She accepted God’s grace: “Thou hast found favor with God.”
  • She rested in God’s presence: “The Lord is with thee.”
  • She trusted God’s greatness: “With God nothing shall be impossible.”
  • She surrendered herself in faith: “Be it unto me according to Thy word.”

Peace didn’t arrive because her circumstances became easy.
Peace arrived because her faith shifted from herself to God.

God asks the same of us:

  • To let His grace cover what we fear,
  • To let His presence steady what shakes us,
  • To let His power carry what feels impossible.

And in that place of surrender, the peace of Christ settles into our hearts.

Prayer:

“Lord, give me Mary’s faith—simple, humble, and willing. Let Your grace, presence, and power lead me into the peace You promised. Help me trust You with what feels impossible, knowing You are with me. Amen.”
