Our summer outreach campaign has already come to a close. I can't believe it! But I am so grateful and encouraged for how the Lord helped us to provide these programs for kids and through them, share the gospel to them planting seeds that God can grow.

VBA

The first week of outreach was VBA (Vacation Bible Adventure). We invited children grades K-5th grade to participate to learn about Jesus. VBA consisted of several “stations”: 1) Opening Rally - which consisted of singing songs, a devotion, a skit and a video teaching about an animal from God’s creation, which was the “Buddy” for the day, and would teach the theme and overall lesson for each night, 2) Music, a time teaching different songs throughout the week, 3) Sticky Scripture - a time teaching a Bible memory verse, 4) Craft and finally 5) Rec (recreation) - a time for the children to get some energy out and play games.

Each evening was filled with the gospel and Bible truths teaching them about God, and balanced with fun and activity as well!

A Mission Team from Heritage Baptist Church in Cantonment, FL (Pensacola area) was here helping run VBA. They came on Sunday evening and put up decorations throughout the building to make it fun and exciting! Then they came each night to run the program. They were such and encouraging group who put their heart into everything they did.

Basketball Clinic

The second week of outreach continued with Basketball Clinic. We had almost 20 kids each night! Which is exciting because that was an increase from last year. Also, that included several new children this year.

The children learned fundamental basketball skills like dribbling, passing and shooting. The coaches taught and led them through “drills” to teach these fundamentals. Each night, I gave also gave a devotion teaching them about Jesus. Then at the end of each evening, we divided the children into small groups with the coaches and workers to follow up with them about the devotion and to answer questions they had.

The Mission Team who helped us run the basketball clinic was from West Jackson Baptist Church of West Jackson, TN. They were such a blessing, worked hard and you can see the love for the children and for Jesus in all they did.

The weeks were busy, but they were fulfilling! We are so grateful that God allowed us to have these programs for kids here on our property! I already can't wait to do it again next summer!
